| Chicago Center for Global Ministries (CCGM) is a common venture of Catholic Theological Union (CTU), Lutheran School of Theology (LSTC) at Chicago, and McCormick Theological Seminary (MTS). It is located in the academically, vibrant neighborhood of Hyde Park, within Chicago, IL; which embraces many cultures and religious traditions.
CCGM was established in 1993 with the purpose of enhancing unity among the three seminaries and to support cross cultural ministries, religious diversity, the study of world Christianity, and global mission.
CCGM seeks to mobilize the resources and energies of constituent members to achieve ecumenical learning, to enhance the capacity for dialogical living and to visibly develop and express our understanding and practice of the mission of God. CCGM assists the members’ institutions in building a bridge across faith and traditions. CCGM serves to recognize and embrace the differences between Christians of different cultures and background.
CCGM ensures that a coordinated series of courses in cross-cultural studies, world mission, world Christianity, global mission, ecumenism, and interfaith dialogue are offered each year. CCGM also fosters professional development of the educators in these areas and an increased sensitivity among faculty to the multicultural, multifaceted population, we serve. CCGM also assists the faculty in designing research projects and serves as a resource to internal committees while supporting denominations in matters of globalization. |
