Custom wheels, like any field, is terminology. A brief description of the terms associated with the wheels will help you begin selling wheels. To select the proper wheel for a specific car, you need to know the dimensions of the wheel.

The next measurement is the bolt pattern. This refers to the number and spacing of the lug studs of the vehicle (and the corresponding holes in the wheels). It is designated as “Five and a half in four years” (written as 5×4.5 “or 5-4.5″) and means that the vehicle has five lug studs, and a circle passing through the center of the beam with a diameter of four and a half inches.

The final measurements need to know is back and offset. These dimensions refer to the position of the mounting surface of the wheel, which is the back middle section, where are the lug holes. This is the part of the wheel that attaches to the car.

Back separation is the distance from the mounting surface to the rear wheel. If the wheel is placed face down and a straight edge placed on the back of the wheel back space can be measured between the mounting surface and the bottom edge of the rule. This measure is usually given in the catalogs of the wheels and can be useful to determine if a wheel will clear the vehicle’s suspension components. Expressed in inches, people often say “five-inch backspacing.”

Offset is the relationship of the mounting surface of the wheel hub. This measurement is usually expressed in millimeters. If the mounting surface is in the exact center of the wheel, it would be “zero offset.” When the mounting surface of the wheel is toward the front wheel, the shift would be positive. A typical wheel drive car will have front mounting surface located 35 mm forward of the center line toward the front of the wheel. This is stated as “over 35″, “offset high” or can be written as “ET 35.”
Older cars and trucks can use a minimum of displacement (nine plus six or less, for example) Sometimes clients request a conference with “a lot of lips.” This type of wheel is a low or even negative offset. The smaller the displacement, the more the wheel will extend beyond the centerline of the vehicle, or “pull.”

Until there is a very good understanding of the concepts of thesis, try to select only the wheels that are equal or very close to the wheel of compensating actions. Change a few millimeters usually OK.
